Celebrated game designer and SimCity creator Will Wright is joining us at GameBeat Summit 2024 in Los Angeles to talk about the potential of AI agents in games.

Wright, the creator of The Sims, is currently working at Gallium Studios, which he founded with fellow designer Lauren Elliott (Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego) to make creator-oriented simulation games that seamlessly incorporate the latest Web3 and AI technologies. He’ll be speaking with Subutai Ahmad (CEO of Numenta) in a panel, Brain-based AI agents and the future of interactive entertainment, on the afternoon of May 20. The two companies previously announced a partnership last year, with Gallium using Numenta’s neuroscience-based AI commercial solution, the Numenta Platform for Intelligent Computing (NuPIC), for its new game Proxi. Yep, that’s a pretty serious brain computing company teaming up with a game company on AI technology.

The AI simulation game will allow players to input pivotal moments in their lives and bring them to life using media such as 3D objects, audio, and photos. It then analyzes these core memories and creates player avatars known as Proxis. Each Proxi avatar is a dynamic model of how players feel, think, and behave with the world around them based on the memories they input.
